Principal brass and percussion players from top orchestras perform Fourth of July favorites including the 1812 Overture, John Williams' movie music, Sousa Marches, and an original fanfare composed by Timothy Higgins. Join us before the show for a classic American barbecue in the festival park.
- This is the first time in Strings' history that a brass and percussion ensemble plays a rousing repertoire dedicated to celebrating the Fourth of July! To honor the night and America's birthday, partake in the pre-concert barbecue in the park.
- The conductor, Mark Gould, is also a conductor, composer, and arranger of the world-famous Brass Band of Battle Creek.
- Strings will have a world premier of a fanfare composed by Timothy Higgins. This short piece was written just for us in honor of our 30th Anniversary.
- Listen to the season playlist on Spotify to preview the pieces on this concert program.
